Unfortunately, the guy she chooses to date in order to make Alex Karev jealous is also abusive. Jo fights back and puts him into a coma. After Alex threatens his life and career, the ob-gyn is never seen or talked about again. Arizona Robbins has chemistry with pretty much everyone. How many hot lesbians have shown up and immediately fallen in love with her? So it is confusing when she has zero chemistry with the universally disliked Dr. Killing Derek is bad, but the latter is straight-up ridiculous.
Sometimes that can be romantic. Hard pass. What a dope! Izzie is better off without him. Boy, bye. Who knows what wonders Clive could hold? Everybody wins! Okay, okay, their names are Pierce, Megan, and Steve, but does anyone even care? All they really do is cause Meredith and George a whole lot of trouble for one day as they sort out their drama.
In the end, Megan is in love with Steve and pregnant with his baby and eventually they get married. Good for them, inconsequential to us. For two hot people, this relationship sure is a snooze. They have a destructive history and they are currently repeating that pattern.
They spend their time having sex, not sleeping, and seducing each other with loud chewing. At this point, they are mostly annoying, but the jury is still out. On paper, Thorpe is great. He is a hunk with a dark side. He is cool with going on a date that consists of simply eating French fries in his car. Unfortunately, he shows up much too early. Meredith is nowhere near ready to begin dating after losing Derek. The good doctors Sloan and Altman enter into this short-lived relationship wanting completely opposite things: Sloan, urged by BFF Callie, is looking for a serious, adult relationship that includes dates in the light of day.
Teddy just needs a good lay. Fortunately, they both get a little of what they want! Con: The chemistry between George and Callie was always a little bit off. Callie got a raw deal, you guys. Well, this is a unicorn: Mark Sloan in a stable, adult, non-tragic relationship.
Emma is perfect for Owen! She is sweet and kind. She is an excellent maternal-fetal surgeon. She was the one who able to get Burke back on his feet with her sweet gesture of bringing chickens to practice suturing. She also brought him comfort by boosting his confidence when he was intimidated by Colin Marlowe. They just seemed to get each other on a level that no one else could understand.
When all is said and done, the fact remains that Cristina was just an intern when Burke asked her out. The power dynamics were very evident and even Burke can't help but be reminded of it when he questions a resident because his intern girlfriend asked him to. This was something he had never done before, and he realizes why this power dynamic is quite complicated and a relationship based on such a dynamic had its fair share of problems. Preston Burke was the best Cardiothoracic surgeons in all of the hospital and even outside of it.
He got a thrill from his work with hearts that was shared in equal or maybe even a greater proportion by Cristina Yang. Yang knew that Cardio was her field and the high she got from surgery on the heart couldn't be matched with anything else.
It made sense for two people obsessed with the same niche field to be interested in each other. Cristina's instinctive reaction to finding out about Burke's tremors was to help him in his surgeries so as to ensure his career didn't end.
Even though that in itself wasn't the wisest decision, Cristina was still just an intern and very worried about the man she loved losing what he loved doing.
When Cristina and Burke's mothers both came into town, they forced Cristina into planning a wedding nothing like what she wanted. They took her wedding dress shopping and forced her to pick bridesmaids.
She asked Burke about it and he claimed he didn't think she was serious when she asked for a small ceremony. The day before the wedding, Derek, the impromptu best man, Derek, threw a bachelor party at Emerald City Bar. He invited Mark and because he needed warm bodies, Addison. On the day of the wedding, Burke's mother shaved off Cristina's eyebrows and gave her a necklace that was worn by five generations of Burke women on their wedding days.
When she arrived at the chapel, Cristina realized that when she'd scrubbed in for surgery, she'd washed off the vows written on her hand and started to panic. Meredith calmed her down and convinced her to walk down the aisle, but before she could Burke came out and said he was sorry for trying to force her to be the woman he wanted and left. Meredith then went to the front of the room and told everyone they could go home. And then he left.
And Ross? Not gonna happen. Not only do they have a history, but he is oh-so romantic. Dump Yang, and marry me. Cristina turns out to be his doctor, and she finds the old feelings she had for him return. Too much?
No matter how much time has passed, he did leave her and then went ahead and put in his resignation without even telling her, so girl has a right to still be a bit mad.
He dies. She leaves. The end.
