Perhaps with stricter and more focused discussion standards a la AskMe whether done on the honor system or by moderation. That might enhance the "release valve" nature of MeTa without subjecting people so much to the community pressure and scrutiny associated with making a full-fledged post. I was gonna get all snarky, like, c'mon, read the multitude of archives of MeTa, plus there's been some pro-am offense taking in MeTa lately, but the Tigers are playing the Twins in a one game tie-breaker and the Twins just tied it up in the 10th at on a gapper single and my head is kinda exploding.

All MetaTalk posts are put into the vetting queue and I measure them carefully for their level of importance, modified for GRAR levels, and then apply a number of more complicated filters and heuristics that are probably a little too inside baseball to go into here.
